| How
do I get on the air quickly?
You're thinking, "Okay, it'd be great to take classes at 'Olelo and learn how to produce and direct and all that, but I don't have the time and I want to be on the air now..." Lucky for you, 'Olelo presents Easy Access, a way for you to get on the air right away. There are a couple of ways to do this. If you belong to a club or organization and want to get the word out about an upcoming event, consider using Island Info, 'Olelo's cool bulletin board. All you do is submit your information, via e-mail if you like, along with a photo if appropriate, and we'll make sure your message gets air time. If your interests run more towards being on camera yourself, perhaps we could encourage you to come down to our main facility in Mapunapuna and record seven minutes of your best stuff for posterity. It's called O'ahu Speaks and it represents an opportunity for you to say whatever you want about the world around you. We just sit you in a room, focus the camera and you're on. O'ahu Speaks is taped according to your schedule, at 'Olelo's main facility in Mapunapuna. The program is aired Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on Channel 52. Call 834-0007 x122 to make an appointment to tape your meessage! Along the same lines is Capitol Commentary, another open mic opportunity when the Legislature is in session. An `Olelo camera team is on site at the State Capitol recording various public and legislative opinions on current issues. Call 834-0007 for more information.

If I'm not interested in making my own show, can I still train to volunteer? What do I need to do to use 'Olelo equipment? How do I schedule equipment or an edit bay? |
