MEDIA CENTER - MAPUNAPUNA

Quick Steps to Tape Pick Up
After your show airs, call Programming at 834-0007 ext. 199
It will be available for pick-up in 48 hours
Before coming in, call the Media Center at ext. 140 to ensure your tape is ready for pick-up.
Come into the Media Center, ask for your tape and the “Tape Pick Up Book” upon receipt.
If you are unable to come in, let the Media Center know. If the tape is not picked up right away, a staff member will call the phone number on the tape label. Messages will be left weekly. The Media Center can store your tape up to three (3) months, but if the tape is not picked up in three (3) months and the Media Center's messages are not returned, the tape will be recycled or discarded.

Transfer Station
The purpose of the Transfer Station is to record unairable tape formats to DVCPro. Transferable formats include miniDV, DVCam, VHS, s-VHS, 8mm, hi8mm, and ¾ inch tape. The Transfer station offers analog transfer capability only. Two hour reservations can be made for this station.

Window Burn/Dub Station
This dual purpose station is used to record to and from multiple formats, with or without timecode. A Window Burn records timecode directly onto the tape and is viewable onscreen. The Wndow Burn process is used to make Edit Decision Lists. A Dub is a direct copy of your original. This station can record

FROM
VHS S-VHS 8mm Hi 8 ¾ inch MiniDV DVCam DVCPro

TO
VHS S-VHS DVCam DVCPro

It cannot burn/dub two like formats (i.e., DVCPro to DVCPro, or VHS to VHS) but it can dub to multiple formats at once if multiple format copies are required (i.e, 8mm to DVCPro, DVCam, and VHS or DVCPro to DVCam and VHS at the same time). The Window Burn/Dub Station offers analog transfer capability only. Two hour reservations can be made for this station.

Be sure to reserve the station that best serves your needs.

Loaner Tape Program
Tapes are loaned to clients to dub Air copies of completed programs only. The edit controller provides accurate in and out points but cannot be used as an edit system. Loaner Tapes can be requested at the Media Center counter and must be turned in to Programming immediately after the dubbing session.

Unsupported Formats
The Digital 8mm format is not an airable or recordable format at ‘Olelo. If you would like to transfer footage from Digital 8mm, please bring in your camera, its support cables and batteries to ensure successful connection to the Window Burn/Dub Station. It is necessary to bring in the cables and power that came with your camera as there are many different cameras with many different types of connectors. If you need to dub to MiniDV, you may bring in your camera and cables and use the Window Burn/Dub station to do it as well.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask; the Media Center will be more than happy to look for a solution.
