ROY K. AMEMIYA, Jr.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Roy is a seasoned leader with managerial experience in both the private and public sectors. Before joining the company in July 2010, he was senior vice president of Central Pacific Bank and the former City Bank. Active in the community, Roy serves on the Boards of Royal State Corporation, Hawaii 3R’s and the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leilehua High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii.
Chief Operating Officer
Chris is a graduate from Punahou High School, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Management from Hawaii Pacific University and holds certifications in both Project Management and is a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer. Prior to Olelo, he worked as a Systems Administrator at the second largest law firm in Hawaii and a Technical Analyst at Hawaii Pacific Health and Straub Hospitals. He has over fifteen years of progressive information systems administration and technical services management experience and has been at Olelo since 2005.
Chief Production Officer
Angela is an award-winning videographer and has worn many hats in the television industry from producer to editor, costume and set designer to writer. She has taught television production and drama at Leeward Community College and Chaminade University, and joined ‘Ōlelo in 1997. As Chief Production Officer, she oversees ‘Ōlelo’s production and community media services. Angela earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies (Film and Video Production) from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Community Media Services Director; West, Central, North O’ahu Region
Greg has worked in video production and operations management since his college days. In the 1980s he oversaw Oceanic Cable’s on-air operations and presented a paper at the 1987 NCTA convention on innovative solution for a large cable commercial insertion operation. In 1990 he co-founded Island Post-Production, Inc., an independent professional editing company which would be the first to offer non-linear video finishing services and later high-end DVD authoring services. In 1999, he joined the Ohana Foundation as their Director of Video Operations, overseeing all aspects of media creation and DVD authoring for educational interactive content on web-enabled DVDs. In 1996 he joined the ‘Ōlelo Board of Directors, and joined the ‘Ōlelo staff in 2008, where he now oversees all aspects of providing direct services to clients.
Community Media Services Director; Capitol, East O’ahu Region
Michael Paz graduated from the University of Washington with an Associates Degree in English. As an avid video hobbiest, Michael used video as a teaching tool while working as a tennis professional in Redmond Washington. His interest in video eventually led him to start his own freelance production company in Seattle servicing Microsoft clients with event coverage as well as freelance commercial and wedding videography. Michael joined the ‘Olelo family in 2004 as a client counselor and trainer. In 2007 he was promoted to manage the Executive Production Service and in 2009 managed the opening and operation of the Studio@Capitol Media Center. As the Director of Community Media Services, Michael now oversees the Studio@Capitol, Kaimuki, and Windward Media Centers.
Director of Finance & Administration
Dawne is responsible for the oversight and management of financial functions, accounting, budgeting and reporting, contract administration, human resources and administration functions. Dawne has been with ‘Ōlelo since 1998. Prior to joining ‘Ōlelo she worked for a Professional Engineering Firm in accounting and office management for 10 years. She has earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration.
